About Rose Optometry

Rose Optometry is an optometrist-owned practice in Frankton, on the west side of Hamilton, in practice since 1969. It is the only optometry practice we list on the west side of the river, and it runs a branch in Huntly for north Waikato patients — the same optometrists, records and fees, with specialty work (ortho-k, myopia control, keratoconus and dry eye assessments) done in Frankton.

All seven optometrists — Jagrut Lallu, Jacqueline Rowe, Emilie Lawson, Jason Shen, Jessica Wood, Stella Wong and Anjali Hira — are University of Auckland graduates, therapeutically qualified, and examine children from six weeks of age. Children's vision and myopia management are led by Emilie Lawson and Jagrut Lallu; Emilie Lawson is an Accredited Glaucoma Prescriber. All seven are accredited New Zealand Police vision examiners.

The practice publishes its fees: a comprehensive adult examination is $129 (45 minutes for new patients, imaging and pre-testing included), children and school students $79, tertiary students $99, and an acute problem-focused appointment $69. Extra tests are quoted before they are done. Fees and what is included.
